Ma’ayanot Coding Students Build New Tablets From Scratch
The newest tablet device is neon yellow, has a seven-inch screen, and weighs about a pound. But what makes this tablet stand out is that is was designed, programmed and built by juniors in Ma’ayanot’s Introduction to Computer Science course.

Ma’ayanot Seniors Celebrate Bat Mitzvah of Seniors from the Jewish Home
On Wednesday, May 17, Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School for Girls threw a bat mitzvah for the ages. The bnot mitzvah were two residents of the Jewish Home at Rockleigh, Ruth Weiss and Mitzi Krampf, who were celebrating their bat mitzvahs for the very first time. The big bash was initiated by Michal Rosenfeld, Yonina Segal, and Shira Rothwachs, three graduating seniors at Ma’ayanot who envisioned the celebration–from learning Torah with the women to party-planning details–as part of the school’s Senior Encounter (i.e., capstone) program.
Ma’ayanot Wins 1st Place at CIJE Innovation Day
Sunday, May 7, 2017, was an electrifying day at the 5th Annual CIJE (Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education) Innovation Day, the largest Jewish day school robotics and STEM event, which took place at the New York Hilton in Manhattan. More than 1,200 students from 40 day schools in the tri-state area displayed their capstone projects and competed in the High School Engineering Conference competition. Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School won 1st place for schools that submitted 10 or more projects.
Ma’ayanot-Project Ezrah Genius Bar Takes Off
At the Genius Bar, a “reverse mentorship” program jointly sponsored by Project Ezrah and Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School for Girls, which took place on three Wednesdays in March, women eager to learn technology skills were paired with Ma’ayanot student mentors who worked one-on-one to help the women achieve their goals.
